Frequently Asked Questions Here you'll find answers to some questions we often receive. Please don't hesitate to reach out if anything you need to know isn't covered here or if you need clarification on anything!
General God's Mountain Questions:
Who Owns God's Mountain? God does. Our Board of Directors oversee and steward this ministry. God's Mountain is not owned by any individuals, churches or corporations.
Is God's Mountain part of a church?
We are not. Our staff attend various churches in the area and our volunteers come from a variety of churches. We stand on the truth of the Bible and we boldly proclaim the Gospel of Jesus, but we are not a church. Our ministry exists to encourage believers, proclaim the Gospel, and give hands-on ministry training and service opportunities to people of all ages. We encourage our campers and guests to be active members of Bible-believing and Jesus-preaching churches. For more details please download our Doctrinal Statements & Beliefs.
We ask that campers sign upbased on the grade they'll be entering in Fall following their summer camp experience. Please choose only one session for your camper. For campers entering 4th grade, families may choose to send them to Day Camp or Kids Camp (a two-night camp experience).
Can I request that my camper be in a cabin with a friend?
Yes! Please note that we only promise to honor cabin requests if both campers are signed up ahead of time and if they mutually request to be with each other. If campers arrive having not signed up, we will try to get them with their friends but cannot promise that.
Who will be taking care of my campers?
Taking good care of campers is our utmost goal. All leaders at God's Mountain are trained here and actively supervised in our "Layers of Leadership" system. Our Cabin Leaders and Support Staff are kind, patient, and demonstrate consistent good decision-making. For more information, see our Serving at Summer Camp page.
Retreats at God's Mountain Questions:
How can I book a retreat at camp?
Reach out to our office to find out about availability! Please note that from mid-May until early-August we are typically fully booked with our Summer Programming. In general we are booked several months ahead, and popular retreat months like October, January and February can book up a year or more in advance. Get in touch with us via our Contact Page.
How much does it cost to host a retreat at camp?
God's Mountain operates via donations. For retreats, we do ask for a nominal deposit to ensure that groups follow-through and that camp is being used. Donations beyond that are up to each individual group. It is not "free" to operate camp and donations are greatly appreciated. Our goal is to provide a place for churches and ministries to affordably host an event on the property God has given us to oversee. For more info, see our Retreats & Events page.
Who does the food for retreats?
For guest groups (not summer camp), food is typically provided by the church or ministry group hosting the event. We provide a commercial-style kitchen and everything you need to make great meals. This allows groups to keep costs down rather than paying a "per head" price. If your group needs someone to provide cooking, please reach out to us and we can discuss options.
